Strawberry & Basil Sparkler

This sparkler is made with thinly sliced strawberries, torn basil leaves, a little vodka, and a lot of sparkling water.  A fizzy collection of real ingredients, sliced thinly & torn roughly to give up the edge of their unique flavors, but not overwhelm the pureness of the vodka and sparkling water. Perfect for warm Summer evenings!

Makes 1 cocktail

• 2 strawberries
• 5 basil leaves
• 1 ounce vodka
• 5 ounces sparkling water
• 1 handful ice

1. Slice the strawberry thinly and tear the basil leaves into large pieces

1. Stack the ice, strawberries, and basil leaves evenly in a tall glass - in alternating layers for maximum prettiness.

1. Rub a piece of basil leaf around the rim of the glass.

1. Pour the vodka over the ice, strawberries, and basil leaves.

1. Top off the drink with approx 5 oz of sparkling water.
